The "Good Design Award", the prestigious award of “The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design” with “The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies”, has been awarded again this year to Snaidero for Ola20, the latest innovative kitchen by Pininfarina Design.
The long-standing "Good Design Award", established in Chicago in 1950, is today the most famous and prestigious international award for the design sector. It is awarded to designers and manufacturers who produce innovative and original ideas and who go beyond traditional product and design standards.
From the hundreds of applications that arrive from all over the world, the panel of judges, comprising architects and experts in the international design sector, confirmed the success of Ola20, the eighth Snaidero kitchen model to have received this prestigious award since 1996, following in the wake of Ola, Idea, Venus and Acropolis by Pininfarina, Time, Skyline by Lucci & Orlandini, and Kube by Giovanni Offredi.
Produced uninterruptedly since 1990, Ola marks the beginning of Snaidero’s collaboration with Pininfarina group. It originates from the idea of a project that could interpret the social evolution of the Eighties, i.e. new functionality, visibility and status needs, giving up quite a standardised visual impact and ensuring in an innovative way the kitchen’s indispensable functions.
Twenty years after, Ola 20 was designed: more lightweight, more sustainable, more essential and simpler. Values and attributes that were evidently considered worthy of recognition by the jury of Good Design Award.
