Founded in 1950 and organised by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts, the GOOD DESIGN AWARD is the oldest and most prestigious award across the globe to honour designers and producers for coming up with ground-breaking and original concepts which push back the boundaries in terms of product and design.
This year, our Opera kitchen, designed by Michele Marcon for Snaidero, came away with the Good Design Award: a singular achievement, especially in view of the fact that it is the twelfth time. This goes to confirm our long-standing talent for merging originality and creativity with the highest levels of craftsmanship and industrial excellence.
The Opera project is inspired by elegant compositions that maximise space and accommodate a modern fast-paced lifestyle in which tidy spaces and the right blend of technology and functionality are of paramount importance. Sturdy, practical and comfortable, Snaidero's Opera exudes stylish refinement and you can take your pick from a vast array of materials including veneered, laminated, gloss and matt lacquered surfaces, or more glitzy choices such as mica-based, metallised and wood lacquered finishes.
"We are absolutely delighted with this international award," - were the words of Edi Snaidero, Chairman and CEO of the Snaidero Group - "Over the last 20 years, twelve of our models have been honoured with the Good Design Award which must go to show how our continual attention towards research and product innovation has paid off in terms of international prestige. By constantly honing our manufacturing skills, we are acting as ambassadors of Italian quality and have made our mark as a unique and forward-thinking company."
